Creed’s Potential New Music to Stay True to Their Roots, Says Mark Tremonti

Creed’s resurgence on the music scene has sparked significant excitement among fans, with many eagerly anticipating potential new releases from the iconic rock band. In a recent discussion, guitarist Mark Tremonti shed light on the direction any new music might take, reassuring fans that the band’s signature sound will remain intact. Tremonti, a key member of Creed and also the driving force behind Alter Bridge, emphasised that the essence of Creed’s earlier albums would be a guiding principle in the creation of future material.

Tremonti expressed his commitment to maintaining the powerful, melodic style that defined Creed’s success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. He acknowledged that while the music industry has evolved, and the band members themselves have grown, the core elements that made Creed stand out—such as their strong, emotional vocals and intricate guitar work—will not be lost in any new material they produce.

This approach marks a conscious decision by the band to avoid repeating the path taken during the production of their 2009 album, Full Circle. That record saw Creed experimenting with new sounds and ideas, which, while expanding their musical range, did not fully resonate with their fanbase in the way their earlier work had. Tremonti’s comments suggest that the band has learned from this experience and is now keen to reconnect with the raw, authentic sound that first won them legions of fans.

Interestingly, Tremonti also highlighted the clear distinction between Creed’s sound and the more progressive, experimental direction he explores with Alter Bridge. This distinction suggests that fans of Creed can expect any new music to stay true to the band’s roots, without venturing into the more complex or alternative styles that Tremonti has developed in his other projects.
