Lynyrd Skynyrd Street Survivors [VINYL]

Lynyrd Skynyrd – Street Survivors [Vinyl Record]

A Southern rock classic with a tragic place in music history.

Released in October 1977, Street Survivors was Lynyrd Skynyrd's fifth studio album and the last to feature original frontman Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines. Just three days after its release, a devastating plane crash claimed the lives of both musicians, along with backing vocalist Cassie Gaines and three others.

Beyond its tragic history, Street Survivors captures Lynyrd Skynyrd at their electrifying best. Opening with the swaggering What's Your Name, the album delivers a powerful mix of blues-soaked guitar riffs, Southern grit and Van Zant's unmistakable vocals.

Other highlights include the hard-driving That Smell, the infectious I Know a Little and the soulful One More Time. With Steve Gaines adding fresh energy to the band's famous three-guitar sound, the record remains one of the finest examples of 1970s Southern rock.

For collectors, Street Survivors also has an intriguing history. Its original sleeve depicted the band surrounded by flames, artwork that was subsequently replaced following the plane crash.

Whether you're a lifelong Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, a classic rock enthusiast or building your vinyl collection, Street Survivors is an essential album that deserves a place on your turntable.
